What was your motivation?
I was motivated by wanting to feel better in my clothes and improving my overall health. I never had a aha moment, but my body kept yelling at me that I needed to lose weight. My knees hurt, my hips hurt and I was short of breath. My mom had a heart attack at 50 years old and I honestly felt like I was headed down the same road. I accepted that I needed to adopt a new lifestyle and dietary habits. This time, unlike in the past, I wanted to be mentally prepared and have support so that I could sustain this for the long haul.
What inspired you to start your weight loss journey?
One day, I looked in the mirror and was finally just ready to make a change. I was tired of being fat and feeling bad about it. I was not looking for a diet plan. I was looking for something that I could do for the rest of my life. Prior to this time, I’d lost weight before on Adkins. However, I when I started eating carbs I gained all the weight back. I was at the point where I knew I had to embrace exercise and eating right.
How did you change your eating habits?
I eat more frequently throughout the day. I also try not to eat after 8 pm and if I do it is a light meal. I have incorporated more protein into each meal, as well as protein shakes three times a day. Also, I drink only water and have eliminated sodas and alcohol from my diet. I also cut out red meat, white potatoes, rice, nuts and fried foods. Don’t get me wrong, on special occasions I have had some alcohol, nuts and even a steak, but if I do that I spend more time on the treadmill for balance.
What did your workout routine consist of
I workout 5-6 times a week, for 60-90 minutes, doing a HIIT and resistance training regimen given to me by my online trainer, King of the Fire. He explained that the goal is to drop the excess body fat and keep/enhance my curves.
How long did your transformation take?
4 months
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
There are no short cuts. You have to combine eating right and exercise. Find what works for you and stick with the program. Also, don’t focus on the scale . Focus on how your clothes feel on your body and the inches your lose.
Why did the “Fitness on Fire” Online Training Program work for you vs other programs you’ve tried before?
Fitness on Fire worked for me because of the simplicity, the support from my nutritionist and trainer and the results. I have joined gyms before and I get overwhelmed with all the equipment. I don’t know what to do. So, I stopped going and basically paid for a membership I didn’t use. My trainer Fire made it easy. He gave me a choice of three machines and once I picked one he told me exactly what I needed to do. The Nutritionist Guru‘s support has been unbelievable. She answers my questions about meals, shares recipes and provides encouragement. Accountability to them is what I needed to jump start my journey. Beyond all of that, the results have kept me going. My husband, children and co-workers all have noticed the transformation of my body. I am maintaining my lovely curves and slimming down at the same time. Fitness on Fire was the best program for me and it is not a gimmick. It connects the knowledge of how to lose weight to actually doing it.
