S. LaShae lost 22 pounds. Unhealthy eating habits, drinking and depression caused her significant weight gain. She changed her lifestyle by making changes to the way she ate and embracing regular exercise. Check out what she shared with us about her journey.
I started my lifestyle change on September 1st, 2016 at 180 pounds. I’ve lost a total of 22 pounds. Dealing with unhealthy eating habits, drinking and depression for the last 6 years caused me to put on a total of 50 pounds. I have tried various diets, with some causing me to lose weight, but I eventually gained it all back immediately after stopping the diet. I am so happy that I have committed myself to living and leading a more healthy, happier life.
I changed my eating habits with strict changes to my diet. No bread, no soda, no juice, no red meat and no pork. I cut out a lot of things that enjoyed, including drinking alcohol. I’m not huge bread, pasta orcake person, but taking away everything I loved was very hard. I also increased my intake of cooked and raw vegetables, pairing them with either legumes, salmon or baked chicken.
I started out exercising 4 times a week, which included cardiovascular activities and weight training. My height is 5’5″. My current weight is 158 pounds.
Advice: I would tell people to just keep trying. Even if you feel like you are not seeing progress or if you have had a couple a bad eating days, it will come. Success doesn’t come overnight. You have to put in the work, time, and effort. Keep trying!
