Weight Loss Story: Roshanda lost 52 pounds. Her inspiration is her four beautiful children, her grandson, and her supportive husband. After being overweight for 20 years, she decided that enough was enough. Check out how she took action.
I started working out and eating better at the beginning of 2016. I’ve lost 51 pounds so far. I’m still a work in progress but I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished so far
My motivation was simply to get healthy. I’ve been overweight for almost 20 years and I simply got tired of saying that I needed to lose weight. I just started doing the work. I have four beautiful children, a grandson, and an AMAZING husband who inspired me to be healthier.
As far as my eating habits are concerned, I cut way back on starches. I allowed myself to include them for breakfast only. The rest of the day I eat meat, veggies, fruit and nuts. I also drink lots of water. I did not follow any specific program. Instead, I created one that worked for me.
My workout regimen started off with Zumba class 3 times a week (one hour classes). Later, I progressed to gladiator-style boot camp and walking for several miles, just to add some variety.
My starting weight was 334 pounds and my current weight is 282 pounds. I’m 5’8″ tall. I started working on myself January 1, 2016. It has taken me 10 months to lose 52 pounds.
I’d advise anyone who wants to lose weight to do it for themselves. Someone else wanting you to do it will not be enough to keep you focused.
