Update Dec 2020: Shout out to Robyn! She’s lost 158 pounds.
“I’ve lost an additional 12 pounds bringing me to 158 pounds off. 322 pounds to 164 pounds.” @_.lovelai._
Transformation of the Day: Robyn lost 146 pounds. Due to the stress of being the youngest person and one of the only black people in her workplace, she lost her appetite. She turned a negative into a positive, reduced her portion sizes, and started doing more walking.
I don’t have a typical weight loss story. I’m 25 years old, and when I worked out in the past, I never lost weight. However, after I reached a point in my life when I was under a lot of stress, the weight just fell off at about a pound or two a day. I went from 322 pounds to 176 pounds in 11 months. Now, I eat smaller portions to keep the weight off since my appetite isn’t as big.
When did your weight loss journey start?
I started my journey on Thanksgiving 2018. I noticed the weight coming off in January.
What is your motivation to get healthy?
My motivation is my daughter. I’ve struggled with my weight most of my life and want to be in better shape to be a better mom.
What was the source of your stress?
The source of my stress was my job. I am the youngest and one of the only black people working in the operating room. After being so stressed, I lost my appetite, which got me used to eating less food. My appetite still isn’t as big as it used to be now, so my portions are a lot smaller.
What was your workout routine?
When I noticed the weight coming off, I started taking the long routes at work, so I walked more than usual.
What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I learned is that until you master self-control, you’ll end up right back at the starting line.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lost weight?
My advice is to keep pushing until you get where you want to be.

It crazy how everyone looked over the cause of your weightlose. While you have used it to your advantage, that kind of stress is unsafe and an absolute shame. I can relate because I started my career in the medical field at 19 years old and I too have a similar story. I was the only black person (not just women) and the youngest on the entire unit. AND HONEY….them evil women gave me the BLUES!!!! Instead of weight dropping it was my hair. I had gotten so depressed after realizing I had gained 20lbs in 1 year. I went to the doctor to get my thyroid check thinking “something has to be wrong.” Why is it that young black people do not get equal treatment in professional fields??? That shit really bothers me. I pray you alleviated the source of that stress. On the flip side you look absolutely amazing giirl!😚🤗
