How often did you work out? 30 minutes a day. Normally, I work out twice a day doing some form of cardio.
What was your starting weight? 205 pounds
What is your current weight? 175 pounds. I am still on my journey. I want to lose 20 lbs more.
What is your height? I’m 5’3″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take? It began in Sept 2023. It took me 35 days initially to lose about 23 lbs. Since then, I have made eating healthier and cardio exercise my lifestyle.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? I learned that eating is 80% of weight loss and being healthy. Exercise is the other 20%. I know people get tired of hearing the cliche, “You are what you eat.” But if we really took this to heart, we would be more mindful of the types and amount of food we intake. Meeting Terry Starks changed my life. I was prediabetic and had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. All of my numbers have improved, and I no longer have pre-diabetes or high cholesterol. My BP is hereditary so I was able to lower the meds but stay on a small dose to be safe with caution of elevation. I am also going to seek the help of a cardiologist to further determine if I can drop the BP meds.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight? Get your mind right mentally, and do it. If you are tired of yo-yo diets and fads, email Terry. I was in my office on my knees crying after I left the doctor’s office with poor health results. I went on my social media and typed in “nutritionist”, and Terry Starks popped up. Within 1 hour, he replied to me. I am spiritual, so I thanked the lord on high because I was in an hour of despair. Connecting with him saved my life because all the doctors wanted to do was give me another pill for this and that. If you have discipline and a strong will to live, the key is to get on a healthy eating plan and exercise. You get cheat days, but the majority of your focus must be healthy eating.
I am 54 years old, and I didn’t want to spend my life taking multiple pills to offset deficiencies and health matters that I could correct by simply changing my habits. Plus, meds are expensive. I would rather spend that money on healthy habits.
Start today, and don’t look back. I can’t even eat the way I used to if I wanted to. I rarely eat fried foods, and when I do, the taste is not the same. My body no longer craves greasy, fatty foods. I would rather eat a bowl of kale with nuts. I am not where I want to be yet, but I am well on my way. My body composition has changed, and I enjoy the way that feels.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? No, no surgery, no gimmicks, nothing. Terry Starks’ plan is pure discipline, exercise, and mindful healthy eating. You get out of it what you put in. You want results, so do the work. Your future self will thank you.
