What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
Self-love and self-respect are what inspired me to start this journey and not to give up. I struggled with my weight for six years. It was the one thing in my life I could not control. Before I started the physical aspect of my journey (eating and working out), I prayed for strength, guidance, and consistency.
How did you change your eating habits?
A friend of mine came to me with ideas on healthy foods I love to eat as a way to jump start my healthy eating. My favorite food is seafood, so I started pairing that with vegetables only. I still had the satisfaction of eating food that I loved, just in a healthier way. From there, everything clicked. I did not feel like I was starving myself. Now, I mostly follow the Keto diet, eating lots of protein and veggies. My go-to beverages are black coffee, water or green tea.
What is your workout routine?
I focus on 80% cardio because I want to slim down, and 20% percent strength training for toning.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My highest weight was 234 pounds. My starting weight was 225 pounds, and current weight is 154 pounds. My height is 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started April 2, 2016. I am 2 weeks away from my one year anniversary. Majority of my weight loss happened throughout a ten month period.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Mentally prepare yourself and build up your spiritual strength. The power of the mind will help you conquer the physical.
