Transformation of the Day: Rene lost 55 pounds. She just wanted to be heatlhy again. No more high blood pressure, knee pain or heart palpitations. Changing her eating habits and finding a passion for fitness allowed her to transform her body and take her health back. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was health. I wanted to feel healthy again and have normal blood pressure. I wanted to be able to walk without knee pain and heart palpitations. I wanted to be able
to be active with my teenage son and climb stairs at a waterpark without pain and shortness of breath. I wanted to live!
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
I was inspired by how my body was changing and how much better I felt. During my fitness journey, I got certified as a Water Fitness Instructor. Getting that certification was so important for me as I continue on with my fitness journey.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by eating 6 small meals a day and eliminating sugar, refined products and fried foods. I ate lean protein, vegetables, whole grains, fruit and drank lots of water.
What did your workout routines look like?
My workout routine consisted of dance classes, water aerobic classes, lap swimming and
strength classes. I worked out 5 to 6 times a week. I also trained for a Sprint triathlon during my weight loss journey.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 220 pounds and my current weight is 165 pounds. My height is 5’4″.
When did you start your journey?
I began my journey in July of 2015. My transformation/fitness journey is still taking place and will never end.
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
Change your mindset about why you want to lose weight. Focus on feeling better first and not just looking better (that will follow later on). Also, meal prep is essential. Take it one day at a time, one meal at a time. Drink lots of water daily. Believe in yourself and choose life!

Hi Rene- the challenge for me is creating and preparing simple meals everyday. Is there a menu chart that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in between that I can follow.
