Transformation of the Day: Regina lost 47 pounds. This mother of four realized that it was time to put some of the focus back on her. She decided to give the Keto diet a chance, and she committed to working out 5 days a week. Check out her story.
When did you start your journey?
My weight loss journey began on March 10, 2019. I lost a total of 47 pounds in less than 4 months.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
I was fed up with not being able to shop where I wanted. I was tired of not being able to fit into clothes that I thought would look outstanding on me. I also suffered from some low self-esteem and had little confidence in myself. As the weight fell off, I gained so much confidence and strength in myself. I know that I can do and achieve anything I want in life. With a positive mindset and the courage to believe, I shall receive.
I’ve always put my work and my kids before me. I am a mom of four, 3 boys and 1 girl. I also work as a fulltime ASM at Walgreen’s. My inspiration to keep going when I wanted to give up is my 4 beautiful
children. They are all under the age of 10, and that means a lot of physical activity. Being able to keep up with them on a daily basis and stay active with without feeling sluggish and tired means the world to me.
How did you change your eating habits?
After hearing rave reviews about the Keto diet, I decided to give it a try. I thought, “What else could go wrong?” I didn’t count any carbs or track any macros. I just followed the simple steps of eating the right foods and working out consistently.
I enjoy various types of Cobb salads, which include a variety of chicken, seafood, and other proteins. My favorite Keto dishes are keto chili and mustard sauce chicken thighs with roasted veggies.
What is your workout routine?
I work out 5 days a week. I do four days of weightlifting and resistance training and one day of cardio.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 205 pounds, and I currently weigh 158 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5 feet, 3 inches.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I have learned that I can do anything my heart desires when I put my trust in God and believe in myself. I also learned to tell myself what I can do instead of what I cannot do. You attract what you think, so you want to think positive thoughts to get positive results.
What advice would you share with people who want to lose weight?
Follow your heart and trust in the process. Do something to better yourself, emotionally, physically, and mentally. No one can change your current situation, but you.
