Transformation of the Day: Rachael lost 33 pounds. In May, she decided to get active and release the weight. To start her journey, she joined a 6 week boot camp, followed a meal plan and committed to the process. Check out how she got results.
What was your motivation?
I found myself gaining weight, which is so easy to do and especially in my profession as a Bus
Operators. At work, all you do is eat and sit for the majority of the day. I started my weight loss journey on May 1, 2017. That’s when I decided to better my life physically!
What did you do in terms of exercise?
I joined a 6 week boot camp. I worked out twice a day for the whole 6 weeks and followed a strict meal plan! I did one hour at boot camp and one hour at the gym, 5 times a week continuously for 6 weeks! I did a lot of cardio at boot camp. That means a lot of exercises that increased my heart rate, like sprints. When I went to the gym, I did more cardio and a slight amount of weight lifting, but not too much. I didn’t wanna gain muscle until I lost some weight. During the bootcamp, I managed to lose 23 pounds.
How did you change your eating habits?
Basically, I was on a low calorie diet. My strict meal plan was made up of low carb foods and no sugars. Had to eat a lot of green veggies and white fish! Breakfast was egg whites and rolled oats. I stayed on that meal plan for 6 weeks.
Starting weight/Current weight
I’m currently weighing in at 196.8 pounds! I started at 230 pounds. My height is 5’6″. After boot camp ended, I still continued to workout. However, I hurt my knee, so I haven’t been as active as I was. I have also continuted to eat right, so the weight is still coming off. My goal weight was 200 pounds, but now I’m aiming for 185 pounds.
What advice would you share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice for other women is stay the course. You can do anything you put your mind too. I thought it was gonna be hard, but I pushed myself to get up and out. The biggest lesson I’ve learned: Belive in Yourself. I believe in myself now and I know I can do anything I put my mind too. All things are achievable if you TRY!
I hope that my story inspires someone!
