Transformation of the Day: Qiana lost 79 pounds. When she started experiencing health problems at the age of 19, she knew it was time to do something. She made some serious changes to her diet and started walking for exercise. Check out how she shed the pounds and created a new lifestyle.
What was your motivation?
My movativion was experiencing major health problems at the tinder age of 19.
How did you change your eating habits?
I went cold turkey and cut out all sweets, processed foods, bread and soda. I started cooking more and eating more fruits and veggies. Now, I’ve incorporated some unhealthy foods back into my diet, but only in moderation.
What did your work out routine look like?
Mostly cardio (walking/running). Walked almost every day for 30 minutes or more. I also did yoga daily and did some beginner level pilates. I’m starting to use a home workout program that builds muscles and core strength.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 235 pounds. My current weight is 156 pounds. My height is 5’7″.
How long did your transformation take?
I started in 2016. My transformation took 8-10 months… almost a year. No surgery. Just old fashioned dieting that has now transitioned into a lifestyle change.
What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My concerns about my various health problems, including back pain. Also, I wanted to set a good example for my younger siblings.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Changing your eating habits can make a huge difference. Also, people treat you so differently when you lose weight.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Start by cutting out sugars and processed foods, and increasing your water intake. Then, find a workout regime that works for you.
