Transformation of the Day: Poppy lost 38 pounds. When she began to feel winded when climbing stairs and started having spontaneous chest pains, she knew it was time for a change. Intermittent fasting, cardio, and weight training worked for her.
When did you start your journey?
I decided in June of 2019 that it was time that I made a change. I weighed close to 200 pounds (Well, I was over that number), and with diet and exercise, I’ve lost 38 pounds. I feel so much better today. My journey isn’t over, and I’m happy I made the decision to lose the weight. 38lbs and counting!
What was your motivation?
I always knew I needed to lose weight, but I didn’t get serious until I started to become winded when walking up stairs. Also, I started experiencing spontaneous chest pains.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started intermittent fasting, not eating until 12:00 pm. I also stopped eating carbs, starches, and sweets. I didn’t use a specific plan, but I chose to eliminate those foods even though I enjoyed eating them often in the past.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I do cardio and strength training three days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 196 pounds, and today I weigh 158 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’3″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned is that you won’t achieve success until you change your mindset about food.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
The advice I would give women is don’t just focus on your goal. Instead, get up every day and work towards your goal.
