Transformation of the Day: Pierrette lost 83 pounds. After giving birth to her fourth child, she didn’t feel comfortable with how she looked or felt. Determined to take control of her life on her own terms, she began to eat for fuel instead of pleasure and made exercise part of her daily routine.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was inspired to lose weight after my 4th child was born. I felt so uncomfortable with my husband. It was just very difficult for me to be myself around him because I wasn’t’ happy with how I looked and felt.
What inspired me to keep going was a desire within me to not give up on myself. I was determined to do something for me. Something that no one else had a say in. I wanted to gain control of my life… Unapologetically.
How did you change your eating habits?
I stopped eating for pleasure and started to eat simply to fuel my body. I stopped eating pizza, doughnuts, and subs. I loved pasta and mac and cheese, but I had to cut that out.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I worked out every day after I got out of work. I worked until 5 pm and would go to the gym for kickboxing for about 45 minutes. On the weekends, I’d go for a walk that turned into a run as I started to really shed the pounds!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 243 pounds, and my current weight is 160 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’7″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my weight loss journey in January 2019. It took me a year to transform my body with no tricks and gimmicks.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I have not had any weight loss surgery as of yet. This whole transformation was done through discipline and commitment.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned so far in this journey is that the only person who controls your success is yourself. After all is said and done, this is true regardless of whether you have support around you or not. As long as you believe in yourself, you are on the right path to change.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
To any women who want to lose weight and transform their lives; Get up and do it. Stop thinking about the possibilities, and just live them out. Yes, those voices of discouragement will come, but see that as fuel to motivate you to press on!
