Today’s weight loss success story: Patricia lost 45 pounds with the help of Zumba. She says:
“I started my weight loss journey almost a year ago by eating healthy and by joining Zumba! It was the best decision that I could of made and has changed my life forever! I’ve lost 45 pounds, went from size 16 to size 8 in 6 months!! I’m also off of high blood pressure medication after taking it for 8 years. I took sugar out of my diet and lowered my daily carb intake. I never thought that I would be able to work off the weight but I did. If I can do it, anyone of you can! Best of luck ladies!”

I hear people say they take sugar out of their diet. What kind of foods do you eat? I don’t drink sodas and I’m not a sweet eater. Just need some food choices so I can lose some weight by May. Thank you in advance.

I love zumba. I lost 10 lbs so far n jus join the biggest loser contest with my gym i weight 205 so hopefully i get to 160 or less..good luck i love Zumba!!

Go Pat! I am so proud of you. I started Zumba in July along with Herbalife meal replacements and have lost over 50 pounds. Zumba really helped shed the inches~ zumba is awesome! KEEP up the GREAT work!

Pat, congratulation!I was wondering if you are a person that likes sugar? Also how did you begin eliminating it from your diet? Were you able to do the complete Zumba workout? I can only do some of the stuff and then I can’t go on. Gets very discouraging sometimes.

Please don’t give up! I’m a sugar addict and I went cold turkey, I went to the doctor and couldn’t believe how much weight I had gained and decided to start immediately!! When I 1st went to Zumba I thought I was going to die and didn’t think I would ever go back and I was doing low impact but I swear to you within a few weeks, my sugar cravings were gone and I was doing more and more at class, things I NEVER thought I could do. Each class I would say do a Jumping Jack, if its too much don’t do anymore, then I woud do one, two and now I’m jumping around the entire time! You can do it just keep going!

Great job Patricia. What kind of healthy eating did you do besides eliminating sugar?
Were there other things you didn’t eat also? Was Zumba the only workout that you did? And how many days per week did u exercise?
I am really trying to lose weight and I’m a size 16 now and would love to be in an 8. Any help or additional advice would be great! You look Great by the way!!

Hi Cheryl, I also lowered my carb intake, I only eat things like bread, rice or pasta once or at the most twice a week but half the portion size that I was before and I do Zumba 4 days a week now. I pray this helps you!

I’ve been doing Zumba for several months also, but just rejoined Weight Watchers so that I could get my eating under control (I have no willpower!). The changes I’ve noticed is that I dropped some weight and went down one size. I’ve always hated the extra weight/fat on my inner thighs but since doing Zumba I see a BIG difference! Again, congrats!!

Congrats and thanks for the helpful weight loss tips they where very helpful my aunt is a certified zumba instructor that holds classes two days a week and has did zumba partys for my girls every year for the past two yearsso i have no excuse not to take advantage of that losing this weight is hard but thats to people like you that give us all motivation and inspiration on our own weight loss journeys:)
