Transformation of the Day: Patrice lost 60 pounds. This busy wife, mom and entrepreneur decided to take a year off from work to focus on all the things she wanted to accomplish before turning 40. Releasing the weight was one of those goals. Check out how she changed her eating habits to get results.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My inspiration was getting close to 40 years old and trying to live my best life. I decided to take a year off from work to focus on all of the things that I’ve wanted to accomplish before 40 and one of those things was losing weight and keeping it off.
I was determined to, once and for all, take this weight off and keep it off.
How did you change your eating habits?
A couple of my family members had success with Quick Weight Loss Centers. Although, I tried other programs in the past, I could never seem to stick to it and keep the weight off. The program requires decreased sugar and salt intake. It also requires you to take protein supplements. The program involves accountability, in the form of sitting with the weightloss counselor, which is something that I really needed.
I only eat the food on the approved food list and measure everything! Since you eat a lot of protein on the program, you are able to get full and stay full between meals. It keeps you from snacking on things that you shouldn’t be eating.
I enjoy fish, chicken, shrimp and even steak on a regular basis. One of my favorite foods to make is oven-fried chicken nuggets using chicken breasts and melba toast. This always makes me feel like I’m eating something that I shouldn’t be eating, but it is healthy and delicious. I enjoy the protein bars that Quick Weight Loss center offers, which make me feel like I’m eating a candy bar.
What did your workout routine look like?
Due to an extreme decrease in calories, I really don’t work out. I’ve tried walking/running for 30 minutes a day, but found that I had to take a nap on those days. So, I stopped and now I feel much better.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I weighed 260 pounds when I started and I’m currently at 200 pounds… but I’m not finished yet! I’m 5’4″.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in the beginning of November. It has taken me 7 months to lose 60 pounds. (I did not have weight loss surgery, but in the future, I may have surgery to deal with loose skin.)
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned is I can train myself to do anything. I have survived Thanksgiving, Christmas and various other family gatherings, all the while staying true to myself and my program. I never knew that I could resist temptation this much.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My advice would be to find something that works for you. I’ve tried lots of different things in the past to lose weight, but I’ve never made it this far. I’ve finally found something that works for me and you can too.
