Transformation of the Day: Pamela lost 39 pounds with clean eating and exercise. She found the perfect dress for Homecoming and wanted to look her best when she saw her best friends and classmates she hadn’t seen in quite a while. She learned that she can accomplish whatever she puts her mind to.
What was your motivation?
My motivation was a little black and turquoise dress. Homecoming was approaching in a few months. My best friends and people I haven’t seen in awhile were all coming to town. I wanted to look my best, and I really wanted to wear that dress. I didn’t bother trying it on because I didn’t want to snag the zipper or rip the material. At the time, I was a size 22 and weighed 274 pounds. The dress I wanted size was a size 16. That day, I knew I had to do all I could do to fit in the dress and look good for homecoming weekend
How did you change your eating habits?
I started eating clean and drinking nothing but water. I cut out all fried food, bread, sweets, takeout, juices, and sodas from my diet.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My routine was working out five times a week for 45 minutes. I do a mix of walking outdoors and cardio.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 273 pounds, and my current weight is 234 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’6″.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in 2015. I lost the first 30 pounds in 3 months. Since then, I’ve managed to keep it off and lose an additional 10 pounds. I’m not focused as much on the number on the scale now. I’m just trying to be healthy overall.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is you can accomplish anything you set your mind too. Changing my eating habits and exercising is something I should’ve done way before I started my journey.
What advice would you like to share?
Advice for people trying to lose weight: Stay CONSISTENT. Find what works best for you, whether it’s cutting calories, fasting, Keto, etc. Find a plan that you can follow on a daily basis. Find a plan that you can make into a lifestyle so that you don’t become bored and go back to your old habits.
