Transformation of the Day: Nozipho lost 102 pounds/46kg. Over the years, unhealthy eating habits and a lack of exercise led to weight gain for this South African sista. In 2010, she made the decision to change her life and she hasn’t turned back since. Check out how she lost the weight.
I was born a cute, chubby kid. As I grew older, I gained more weight and my highest weight was 127kg/280 pounds. We are all different. I believe we all have different reasons for our weight gain. Mine was unhealthy eating and not being physically active. For me being, being overweight took away my happiness and food became my drug. When I weighed 127kg, my pants size was a size 50 and I wasn’t even 30 years old at the time. I had to buy clothes where people twice my age bought clothes.
A time came when I realized that I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror. I didn’t like the person I’d become. I knew that if I didn’t change, my weight might send me to my grave.
In 2010, I joined the gym and got myself a personal trainer. I would wake up at 4am to hit the gym, 5 days a week. My workout included a lot of cardio, especially at the beginning of my journey. Later, I added weight training to my routine.
I also changed my eating habits. I stopped drinking fizzy drinks and cut down on my sugar intake. I started eating breakfast regularly and all of my meals where in moderation.
I lost the weight. My starting weight was at 127kg/280 pounds and now I weigh 81kg/178 pounds. My height is 1,67/5 feet tall.
Biggest Lesson: I’ve learned that if you put in effort and discipline in everything that you do you can achieve anything. Believing in yourself and believing that you can is key.
Advice: All you need to do is never to give up, keep on pushing and remember to be in your own lane. If you really do not like the way you look and want to lose the weight IT IS POSSIBLE to change. TRUST ME. I did it and you can do it too.
