Nisha lost 22 pounds in 90 days. Her boyfriend’s successful weight loss journey inspired her to work toward a healthier lifestyle. “It’s easy to stay “thick”, but I wanted to be a fit “thick”. Check out her story.
My weight loss journey wasn’t easy. It’s easy to stay “thick”, but I wanted to be a fit “thick”. I started my journey in Aug 2014. I went from 182 pounds to 160 pounds in 90 days. The first key was diet, second key was weight training and the third was cardio. That’s what worked for me! Also, I can’t forget to note that a couple that trains together stays together. My bae, @bendiesel9oz, lost 130 pounds in 10 months. That also drove me to be GREAT!
What was your motivation?
To get a healthier lifestyle and look good while doing so.
What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My boyfriend. He lost over 130 pounds. Knowing that kept me focused on knowing that I could do it as well.
How did you change your eating habits?
I knew that I had to stop eating those Buffalo Steak Subs and start eating smarter. Not that I couldn’t have those kinds of foods, but in only in moderation. Monitored my food intake more by not overindulging. I worked with my boyfriend who created a meal plan for me based on fat loss macros. I meal prepped once a week and I take my lunch everywhere I go.
What did your workout routines look like?
I did a weightlifting routine, hitting every body part daily. Legs, back, chest and arms. I worked out 4 times a week and did cardio on my off days.
What is your height?
5’1″
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Focus on weight training before cardio. As women, we don’t focus on weight training because we don’t want to get “muscular” and we spend too much time on cardio machines. Cardio should be your last call, as diet is also a key component for getting results.
