Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Nina lost 152 pounds. Due to a brain tumor, she had to lose weight or possibly lose her eyesight. At over 350 pounds, she decided to start making simple, straight forward changes to create a healthier lifestyle. Here is what she shared with us about her journey…
In 2013, I was informed by several doctors that I had a pseudo tumor on my brain and that the tumor was causing my body to produce to much spinal fluid. I was informed that if I didn’t lose weight I was going to go blind and ultimately die. At the time, I weighed over 350 pounds (I’m 5’8″ tall). As of today, I have lost 152 pounds! I still have 48 pounds more to go but I’m determined to live.
I changed my eating habits by trying to eat 1000 calories or less a day. I also do not consume more than 25-40 grams of sugar a day. I increased my intake of veggies and fruit and I don’t eat bread.
I work out 4-6 times a week. I do cardio every other day for an hour and I lift weights every time I work out. Even if I don’t feel well, I will walk at least a half a mile a day.
My best advice to others who are trying to lose weight is to not become obsessed with it. Once you become obsessed it becomes hard to lose weight. Simply change something small everyday day. Take a walk each day even if it’s just for a short time. Make a simple change to your eating habits. Get out and enjoy life.
