Nikki lost 35 pounds after she saw a workplace photo of her on the news. She gave up meat entirely, cut out processed food, and worked out consistently. She put in the work, even while working 12-hour shifts. That’s dedication.
When did you start your weight loss journey?
I started on the very day I saw this picture of me on the news for Telecommunicator Week. I could not believe that was me.
How long did your transformation take?
It took from April 2018 until mid-2019 to get to 142 pounds, down from 177 pounds. I lost 35 pounds. Now, I weigh 147 pounds and because I lift weights!
What is your height?
I am 5’3″.
How did you change your eating habits?
I gave up meat completely (the entire time), and I gave up all processed foods. I drank half my body weight in water and was determined to eat smaller portions. Now, I’ve started my own juicing business.
What was your workout routine?
I exercised daily, whether I got off my 12-hour shift or was off that day, I walked at least 3-5 miles a day and sometimes twice a day.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned was/is that you gotta work hard for it instead of just “wanting” for it. I refuse to seek instant gratification. The harder you work for it, the more appreciative you are of it!
What advice would you like to share with people who want to lose weight?
I say, pray first, about any and everything. Pray for focus, will, determination, and strength! You can not mess with a focused mind. The rest will follow!
