Weight Loss Story: Nicole lost 34 pounds. She knew that she was too young to feel so bad. Aching joints and high blood pressure were warning signs that she needed to change her lifestyle and embrace new habits. Here is what she told us about her journey…
My motivation to lose weight was because I was too young to feel as bad as I did. My joints hurt, my blood pressure was high and I knew that I was going towards an early grave. I needed to do better for my family. At 46 years old, the weight didn’t come off as easy as it used to. My husband and I renewed our vows last year. I looked back at the pictures and couldn’t believe that I had to buy a size 22 dress. I knew it was time to make a change.
I still struggle with eating right, but I now know how to eat better. I am not a fan of dieting because I feel like when we deprive ourselves and we binge eat. So, I had to learn what the healthy options are that I could eat and still feel fulfilled. With my current regime of detox tea, I have cut out fried foods and sugar. However, I do indulge myself here and there. I wish I could say I have a workout routine, but I haven’t mastered that yet. I am a work in progress. When I do find time the to go to the gym, I keep it very simple and walk on the treadmill.
My starting weight was 233 pounds and I am PROUD to say that I am down to 199 pounds and still going! I’m 5’6″ and it took 3 months for my transformation. Thank you, God! The journey is not easy, but if you are serious, you can do it. I wasn’t afraid to ask for help and use healthy weight loss options.
