Nia lost 44 pounds with the Keto diet. At 24 years old, was dealing with a bad back and bad knees. Concerned about the state of her health, she decided to take action. Check out her story.
I started my weight loss journey around late July/ August and at 246 pounds. (My height is 5’2″.) I had super high blood pressure (146/95) at my work physical in May. My back and knees ached so bad.
I’ve since gotten down to 202 pounds as of today. This is all thanks to the Keto diet. I didn’t exercise until recently. Now, I have so much more energy and stamina in the gym. I feel amazing.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was my body condition before I lost the weight. I was 24 years old with a bad back and bad knees. I felt sluggish overall. My inspiration to keep going when I wanted to give up was my small amount of followers on my Keto Instagram and friends who were looking up to me as their inspiration. I don’t want to disappoint or let anyone down.
How did you change your eating habits?
One day, I just went cold turkey and gave up all the junk I was eating. I gave up sugar, bread and pasta (these are the main things). I eat 20 net carbs a day and mix in a little intermittent fasting with that.
What does your workout routine consist of?
I work out about three times a week. At first, I didn’t even have to work out because the weight was just falling off. Now I do 30 minutes of cardio, and then I try to focus on my abs and legs.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I learned so far is that NOTHING is impossible. I’m so shocked at myself for achieving all this. I continue to live and love this healthy lifestyle. I never thought in a million years I’d be a health freak, but I am. Weight loss has changed the way I think.
What advice would you like to share?
My advice to other women who want to lose weight is to be patient and get in the right mindset. It won’t happen overnight. Tou have to be patient with it. Don’t get discouraged, even if you mess up (I’ve had my days). Don’t let that stop you. Just try again tomorrow. You got this!
I’d thought I’d share my story with you guys in hopes of inspiring other women to do the Keto diet as well.
