Neecy lost 36 pounds and lots of body fat. Fed up with making excuses, she wanted to shift her life in a positive way. She gave up sweets and processed foods cold turkey. Instead, she switched to nutrient-rich, fiber-rich plant foods.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My inspiration was wanting an overall positive shift in my life, first beginning with self. I wanted this change to impact not only my social life and work-life but also my personal life. I got fed up with wanting but creating excuses. What kept me inspired is knowing that it would be worth it after all.
How did you change your eating habits?
I really wanted this change, so I cut out sweets, processed foods, and excessively carby foods. I went cold turkey. I jumpstarted my weight loss journey by going on a one-week fruit fast. I only consumed fruit and water, along with burning 300/calories a day. The following week, I proceeded with a raw veggie fast, in which I only consumed uncooked vegetables and continued my 300/calories workout. I am currently on a balanced, strict pescatarian diet. I primarily consume vegetables and fish.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
I began cycling and burning a minimum of 300 calories per daily. Then, I worked my way into jump roping. After dropping about 10-15 pounds, I shifted to weightlifting to tone and shape. I frequented the gym daily (never missing a day), and I still do. The gym is my therapy, so it will continue to be part of my routine.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I began in October 2019. My transformation is continuous, as I am always evolving. I dropped 40 pounds in about 3.5 months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, all-natural.
