Neat lost 48 pounds. She gained over 60 pounds after the death of her beloved grandfather. The “Freshman 15” was also part of her weight gain. After this young lady was diagnosed with PCOS, she decided that it was time to embrace healthy habits. Check out what she shared with us.
After the loss of my grandfather, I gained over 60 pounds. His death took a toll on me. In addition, I gained the “Freshman 15”. All of this put my 5’2″ body at 185 pounds. After meeting with my doctor and being diagnosed with PCOS, I was paranoid about my chances of having kids being lessened in the future.
At the end of 2014, I started working out by doing the Insanity program at home. I also stopped eating ice cream, fast food, bread and pasta. Eating ice cream was a major issue, because I ate
it everyday. I also replaced soda with sparkling water. After adding more fruit and leafy vegetables to my eating routine, it got easier to eat healthy.
In terms of exercise, I now do heavy lifting, yoga, and cardio everyday. Some of my workouts are short, but I make sure to exercise on a regular basis.
I currently weigh 137 pounds. I’m 12 pounds away from my weight loss goal. I’ve had plenty of set backs, and I’m still not where I want to ultimately be. I want to put more muscle on once I hit my weight goal.
To those who want to lose weight, I say find support and dont give up, no matter the setbacks. Also, find ways to make the process fun. There are definitely healthy alternatives and options out there. You just have to find them. Find your peace and do it for your wellbeing.
