Hi! My name is Nashawn. As a nurse, I’m aware that being overweight is not healthy. My doctor for years suggested weight loss surgery, and I repeatedly said no. Then, some things took place in my life where weight loss was no longer an option but a necessity.
I also noticed my daughter had started to pick up a little weight. Looking at my daughter, I realized I’m her example of what a woman should be. But am I setting a good example for her? Thinking of her and wanting to make her and my son proud sparked something inside me. I wanted my kids to see me go after what I wanted in life, fearlessly and without hesitation.
So the things I had been putting off, I just did them! I wanted to start a business, so I put in the work and I did it—# AmazingAssistance. I wanted to lose weight, so I hit the gym every day, meal prepped, and did it.
I’m down 55+lbs, and I still have a ways to go, but my kids are my “Why.” They are why I do everything, and the goal is to grow old with them and make them proud. #WorkInProgress #JustDoIt. #WhatsYourWhy?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is consistency is key! Even when you don’t feel like it, be consistent. You’ll thank yourself afterward.
What advice would you share with women who want to lose weight?
I’d like to tell other women trying to lose weight to be consistent and patient. Remember, this is a lifestyle change, and it becomes much easier once you find your “why.”
Hopefully, my story can inspire someone, as other people’s stories have inspired me!
