Weight Loss Story: Nashona lost 120 pounds. This proud wife and mom of 3 would not let chest pains, hypertension and high blood pressure stop her. She changed her eating habits and cut out sodas and juices to lose the pounds. Check out what she shared with us about her journey.
My name is Nashona H. and I’m a 36 year old wife and mother of 3. My motivation is to live. I was diagnosed with hypertension and high blood pressure. I would get heavy tightness in my chest weekly. The doctors always told me that I had to lose weight or I would not be here to see my beautiful babies grow up. What truly inspired me was the Lord, Christ Jesus, who’s love remained with me. No matter how tough the trials were, he never left my side.
I changed my eating habits by eating less, and by not drinking sodas or juices. I only drink herbal tea, detox tea (Herbalife) and a gallon of water daily. I drink lemon water when I get up and have apple cider vinegar at lunch. I also replace 2 meals a day with protein shakes.
I also stopped eating all starches and if I craved it I only ate wheat bread in very small portions. I always eat a lot of protein. I do not eat after 7 pm and if I do it is only veggies. I also use chia seeds to help me feel fuller. I eat Subway when I have take out, eating only wheat bread, tuna and vegetables with no sauce.
I did not exercise regularly. I only parked further from where I needed to go. I also walked to the park with my kids instead of driving. I’m happier and healthier. I have more energy and no more high blood pressure. I feel lighter and I no longer have chest pains. I sleep better too.
My starting weight was 330 pounds and I wore a size 22 and XXXL tops (height: 5’8″). Now, I weigh 210 pounds and wear a size 15 juniors size/size 10 women. It took me 7 months to loose my first 70 lbs. The next 40 lbs took about 7 months more. I was determined to win and get this weight off.
To lose weight you must be focused, disciplined and determined. Always have healthy snacks handy and drink a lot of water. Stop eating sweets, starches, fast foods and fried foods. Eat fruit and veggies or take Alive. Don’t drink sodas and do not eat after 7pm. Drink lots of herbal tea, and detox to let it out (do not keep it in). Encourage yourself. You can do it.
