Update: Nancy has released more than 150 pounds!
Transformation of the Day: Nancy lost over 100 pounds. Her weight affected her self esteem over the years, but she didn’t know where to begin. After the death of her beloved father, his words, urging her to lose the pounds, still rang in her ears and motivated her to take action. Check out her transformation story.
My name is Nancy and I have struggled with my weight since I was a child. Being made fun of really made my self esteem low. I never knew how to change or where to begin.
My father was my motivation for my weight loss. I remember the last conversations we had together. My dad asked me when was I going to lose weight, and I replied to him; “I will Daddy, but you have to get better first!”. Sadly, he never did get better and he passed away. It took 11 months after his death for me to finally start fighting for my life again. I’ve lost my way to many times to count in my “dieting years”, that I eventually said enough is enough! I have change the way I’m living my life before it’s to late.
I began my weight loss journey on October 5, 2015. I found a program near by called “Quick Weightless Center” where they taught me portion control, which foods to veer away from and which meals that would help me achieve my goals. Currently, I’ve lost about 110 pounds in 8 months. In the beginning I wore a size 26, now I wear a size 18. I feel like a new person, and I know that the world is waiting for me to do big things.
I stopped eating fast food, which was an every day occurrence for me. I started cooking my food, eating uncooked greens and eating fruits… all of which was out of the norm for me. I eat about two servings of protein a day, two servings of starch a day, four servings of vegetables a day, three servings of fruit a day, and two supplements which could be powders, bars or oatmeal.
Three months in, I lost 50 pounds without exercise, just clean eating. Over the next 5 months, I incorporated working out/weight lifting in my daily routine. Jumping rope, weight lifting and cardio were my go-to’s. I tired to work out at least four times a week. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself, so I stuck to a 30 minute exercise routine each time. [No surgery involved.]
Today, I’m still working out and living a healthy lifestyle. People constantly ask me what my goal weight is and as of now I don’t have one! I will know when I get the there.
If you are thinking about losing weight or are struggling with your weight loss I would say don’t give up! Every day there are new struggles/new ups and downs. It will be a constant battle that in the end will be worth it, because you are worth fighting for!
