What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My entire adult life, I struggled with my weight. After having my daughter at 19 years old, I went from 130 lbs to 190 lbs during pregnancy and have been on the yo-yo ever since.
I work out all the time. “Gym is life.” I’ve always worked out 5-6 days a week, but I didn’t have the nutrition piece down! I kept losing the same 20-40 pounds. Finally, I decided in September 2021 that I had enough. I knew I needed to become disciplined and didn’t want joint pain and heavy breathing anymore. This time I decided that I would NOT ever go back.
Thinking about how I felt and looked before keeps me motivated to never stop choosing a healthy lifestyle.
How did you change your eating habits?
Yes!!! This was key to my change! Mindset meets clean eating and discipline! I do a wellness program that has changed my whole life and keeps me accountable. I have been using Optavia for the last eight months to guide my nutritional journey.
What is your workout routine?
I work out 5-6 days a week, including personal training. I do high-intensity workouts and strength training. The combination of working out and nutrition has allowed me to lose 107 pounds.
What was your starting weight?
My starting weight was 266 pounds.
What is your current weight?
My current weight is 159.6 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’7″.
When did you start your journey?
September 27, 2021.
How long did your transformation take?
Eight months so far. I am not at my goal weight yet, so I am still in transformer mode.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, it isn’t.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that choosing yourself daily improves all facets of your life. We are like cars that are made to use 93 octane gas. If you continue to put 87 or 89 in your tank, you can’t expect it to perform like it’s built to preform.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Take the leap of faith, because it can be done! I didn’t think I could ever lose this type of weight or have such a healthy relationship with food.
YOU are worth it! You deserve HEALTH. You deserve to have the life you desire. Being disciplined in one area helps you improve in all areas of your life!
