May 2013 – Today’s featured weight loss success story: Ms. Fab lost 86 pounds going from 245 to 159. Ms. Fab (aka. Rita) is a mother of 4, the founder of the Mommy-Make-Over Campaign and of “Girl Talk with Ms. FAB” a motivational program for teen girls.
“I made the decision to change the way I ate felt and looked by looking at this picture (before photo). I knew I had to do something. The biggest issue I had was that I ate my problems away…stress stress stress, so I wondered what if I walked my stress away. I started walking every day, twice a day, in the morning and evening. I went from 1 mile to 7 miles per day. Whatever I was stressed out about I left it at the end of my walk and did not bring it back with me. Water became my love. I started eating right. I began drinking a lot of water and switched out sweets with fruits or veggies (mini carrots are everything). I also use honey. Working out became something I looked forward to everyday. I was finally doing something for myself. Being a wife and a mother of four, I always put weight loss off cause I didn’t think it was important. That was until I lost my first 30 pounds and then I became addicted to my new lifestyle. I love the new found Ms.Fab. I changed completely not just in weight loss. I changed and became who I always was meant to be…..Fabulous!”

You are a mother of four …you are far from lazy babes….you have to make time for you it’s very important that you do in order for things to happen start off by walking with the kids make it an activity going to the park or even playing kickball with them……support is key in weight loss

Trust me Dionna I know what you mean, what I did was make time for me…even if it was an hour ….everyone knows that’s mine….support plays a huge role in weight loss ..,but happy mommy and wife will make that home and you fabulous…..you have to make time for you ….it’s called regrouping honey yesssss!

Congrats on your weight loss ….. I’m trying to lose 150 lbs it get discouraging at times… I’m so afraid to work out on front of others at the gym I feel I’m being judged… Idk why its Just insecurity I guess… I purchased work out equipment so i can do it the comfort of my home … I want to take up kick boxing but again insecurity issues… Any advice from you on how to get passed this ..

Hey Alicia I know what you mean I actually have a love hate relationship with the gym because of course you walk in there and see all those fit people and you think why am I here…when really you should be proud that your taking that first step to a new life…it use to bother me so much to use certain equipment knowing I don’t know what I’m doing and people are watching…..I work out better alone because I can go at my own pace and not feel like I’m being judged ….I still walk all the time because I like to make my work outs fun I dance I walk I look at the beautiful scenery I enjoy my work outs so the best thing for you to do is find what works for you and as you become more at ease with it switch it up and start a whole knew routine….
