She was determined to find out what would happen if she was consistent when it came to working out and eating right. Check out her transformation story.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
I was tired of physically feeling lethargic and achy all of the time. My ankles were always swollen and I had constant knee pain. I was also going through a lot in my personal life and I lost all of my confidence.
I needed change. I wanted to see what would happen if I actually practiced consistency this time around. God blessed me in more ways than I have time to explain. I was simply able to staying consistent in this area of my life and make it a priority.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started by reducing my carbohydrates. I was militant in the beginning. No cheats period. I also began looking at nutrition labels. I measured and weighed all of my meals and snacks. It was critical for me to learn portion control. I utilized online resources, books and other resources via social media.
What did your workout routine look like?
I started working out about 6-7 days a week. I would go about 4:00-4: 30 AM, before the crowd and before work. I wanted to make sure that I was focused, and I didn’t want anyone staring at me. My workout routine included about 15 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill (sprints) and the remainder of my workout was all strength training. I would work out for about 2 hours. I lost my first 85 pounds and 5 inches around my waist strictly doing this workout, combined with my eating routine.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 335lbs. i am currently to the date 219lbs. -I am 5’5″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in 2016 (summertime). I lost the first 85 pounds in about 7-8 months. I’m still transforming. Now, decreasing my body fat is my primary focus. Knowledge truly is power. I had to learn that the numbers of the scale are just a small piece of the pie.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned how to be DISCIPLINED, CONSISTENT and how to utilize self control. I give honor to God FIRST for changing my mind. This lifestyle…this journey is mental first and foremost. I want to encourage other women and men to trust God and to hold themselves ACCOUNTABLE.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
Remember: “Consistency breeds results.” If you change your mind. You can change your life. This isn’t a race. It’s a lifestyle .
