What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2019. I had a double mastectomy, 12 rounds of chemo, and one year of immunotherapy. After that, I decided to change my life and take control of the part of my health that I could control. I’m 49 years old, and I’ll turn 50 in December 2021.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started out using Noom. Noom taught me about my relationship with food and how to deal with emotional triggers that make me eat. I also did intermittent fasting, only drank water, and stopped eating processed food.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started by walking in the morning, and then I started using my home gym equipment. I worked with a trainer for three months after I lost the weight to help me learn to tone. I work out 3 to 4 days a week.

I started at 225 pounds, and I now weigh 183 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’6″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in May 2020. By December 2020, I had lost 40 pounds.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I have not had weight loss surgery, and I don’t plan on it.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’m not perfect, and I have to allow myself to enjoy a treat sometimes.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
