Transformation of the Day: Miriam lost 34 pounds this year. Intermittent fasting, healthy eating habits, and consistent workouts were critical to her success. She realized that she is truly in control of her destiny.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on February 9, 2021, after leaving my primary doctor. She took me out of work with FMLA because I was dealing with depression, stress, and family losses. So she took me out to give me some time to recuperate.
How did you change your eating habits?
I immediately started doing the 8/16 intermittent fasting. It’s part of my everyday routine. I can attest that it Really works, even without exercise. I ONLY eat from 9 am-6 pm now. Anything I have before or after that time frame is water. You have to be consistent with intermittent fasting. You cannot keep changing the hours up daily—no sodas, NO FAST FOOD, and only one cheat day a week.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I worked out every day. I jogged or ran at least 4 miles a day. I have the app to prove it, Lol. I would do circuit training in my backyard; 25 jumping jacks, 100 jump ropes, and ten squats (four sets). Working out didn’t become a huge part of my routine until the last month and a half because I hit a plateau and needed to begin toning.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 200 pounds. I currently weigh 166 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’3″.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I DID NOT have surgery. However, I did the wood therapy and non-invasive cavitation one time which helps stimulate the fat cells in my stomach so I can continue to lose weight.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I realized that I am the one who is in control of my destiny.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Don’t give up. Continue to look at old pictures of yourself. Don’t look at the TV and SOCIAL MEDIA as motivation. You are your own goals. I found an old pic of myself and worked toward that.
