Transformation of the Day: Miranda lost 84 pounds in 8 months and discovered a love for health and fitness. Learning to love herself, doing her research, changing her eating habits, and working out has paid off. She says, “I want people to know that we do not have to spend money on expensive weight loss programs or starve ourselves to lose weight.” Check out her story.
My name is Miranda and I’m 26 years old. I came across your page on Facebook. I saw all of the amazing photos of weight loss transformations, and I knew I wanted to be a part of this!
I recently discovered my passion for health and fitness. This time last year, my health was spiraling downhill. I weighed 307 lbs at 5’3″ tall. That’s the heaviest that I have ever been. I was dealing with high blood pressure, back pain and joint pain. Simple things that I used to be able to do, like riding amusement park rides, I could no longer do because of my excessive weight. I also suffered from low self-esteem because I hated what I saw in the mirror. I also had a lot of bad eating habits. I ate fast food almost everyday. I ate a lot of sweets and other unhealthy snacks. I drank a lot of juices and sodas. I was also not very active at all.
In December of 2015, I decided to change my life for the better. First, I told myself that I would love myself. That was the first step toward making progress. I had to learn to love the body that I was in because it was going to be long process. I had to love myself enough to want to take care of myself better.
I also decided to change my eating habits and start a regular workout routine. I used a lot of online resources for healthy recipes and workout tips. I quit drinking sodas and sugary juices. Now, I drink mostly water instead. I eat healthy foods, like lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. I also incorporate smoothies and protein shakes into my day.
I workout 4-5 days a week. You’ll find me jogging around my neighborhood for 45-60 minutes some days. On other days, I do strength training exercises, such as push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and weight lifting.
I am currently 84 pounds down after 8 months and I feel absolutely amazing. My previous health problems are gone! All it took was a simple lifestyle change.
I want people to know that we do not have to spend money on expensive weight loss programs or starve ourselves to lose weight. I have learned so much on my wellness journey about my body and how to eat a variety of nutritious foods. I’m still learning so much, and I want to share with others who are struggling to reach their health goals. My goal is to inspire at least one person everyday. You can do anything you set your mind to!
My passion is helping others. I have started an Instagram page, @_curvy.and.fit_ , that is dedicated to inspiring and motivating others to join me in this lifestyle change. I also recently started a blog that will be used for the same purpose, curvyandfit90.wordpress.com.
