Transformation of the Day: Michidael lost 85 pounds. With her 20th birthday came the decision to change her lifestyle and focus on health and fitness. She found success with the Keto diet, later switching to low-carb. She also committed to a workout routine that keeps her active seven days a week.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was health and the need to be fit. I am a young 21-year-old woman who has always been morbidly obese. I was always told I could never lose weight. Ever. As I turned 20, I realized that I wanted to be fit and healthy. I decided to adopt healthy life patterns that I can benefit from throughout my life. I was inspired by what I could be and accomplish physically by being fit.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started dieting by going Keto for the first six months. With Keto, I lost 45 pounds. Then I transitioned into a low-carb diet. I am now doing intermittent fasting to help with calorie control as I enter the final stretch to achieving my weight loss goals.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started working out eight months into my journey. I do HIIT workouts three times a week and an hour-long cardio session at the gym three times a week. I try to get 30 minutes of activity on the day I don’t work out. It has become my daily routine.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 255 pounds. Now I weigh 170-175 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’3″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in January 2020. I am a year and several months into my journey.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
It is not apart of my journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that a break in discipline doesn’t define the course. You have to aim for longevity on your journey. That means picking back up even when you mess up.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Just do it! Even when the scale doesn’t move, continue doing it!
