Weight Loss Journey: Michelle lost 90 pounds. Having the gastric sleeve, eating low carb and walking off the weight has changed her life. Check out her story.
In January 2015, I reached my highest weight of 265 pounds. That is when I decided that it was time to change my life. At 5’4″ tall, I was morbidly obese. Also, my labs came back to the doctor noting that I was borderline diabetic. I decided to go ahead and have the gastric sleeve procedure on February 17, 2015. The gastric sleeve truly changed my life.
I currently weigh 175 pounds. I’m working on losing 20 more pounds by controlling my diet and exercising daily to tone my body.
When you have gastric sleeve, you have to follow what your nutritionist tells you to do. I’m currently on a high protein, low carbohydrate eating regime. I cut out breads and sweets. I work to avoid things that are high in fats and avoid sweets. I also drink 64oz of water at day and walk 2 miles a day.
In the past, when I would try diets, they worked for a little while but the weight always came right back. I would end up gaining even more weight. However, after getting the sleeve, exercising and eating right, I have been able to keep the weight off and still continue to lose pounds each week.
