Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Michelle lost 100 pounds. She was motivated by learning that she would soon be a grandmother. This petite mom used fasting, green smoothies, healthy meals and cardio to transform her body and her lifestyle. She gives the glory to God. Here is what she shared about her journey…
Hi, I’m Michelle and my journey started in July 2014 when I found out that I was becoming a grandmother. That’s when I knew it was time to change some things. I weighed 250 pounds at 5’1″ tall.
I am a Christian, so I started with a 5 day water fast to break habits and detox my body. Then I followed up with 30 days of green smoothies ONLY. During the 30 days of smoothies, I challenged myself to do cardio DAILY. After that, I just watched what I ate, kept my caloric intake low, and stayed fit thru various types of exercises. My workouts included Tae-bo, Dance Central 3, Walking up to 6 miles (took while to get there, lol.) and of course Zumba.
After 1 year and 3 months, I dropped 7 pants sizes. I am now a size 6, down from a size 20. I now weigh 150 pounds, feel great and look great too. I want everyone to know that it took 20 yrs to get back to this size after TONS of failures.
My advice: Seek God 1st in all you do. He gave me the strength to keep going. Also, don’t look at any scales. Just keep working out, eating right and you will slowly see the small changes that will happen. Most importantly, set realistic goals. Don’t say “I want to lose 30 lbs in 3 months!” Yes, its possible, but it puts too much pressure on you, which sets the stage for failure. Give yourself a year to reach a reasonable goal. This truly is a lifestyle change and for it to be a success you must change your lifestyle. Be successful and stay blessed.

I am really inspired by your story and the manner in which you went about accomplishing the weight loss. I, too, have come to conclusion that I have to include GOD in this endeavor and to try to do my best. In fact, even my motive or a big part of my desire to get rid of all this excess weight is for my grandchildren. I think of how much they (and I) miss out on experiencing together is because of the excess weight hindering what I can and cannot do with them, and that makes me sad. I am committed to eliminating this excuse and reason for me not living this life the way that GOD intended for me to. Thank you for sharing your story!!
