Transformation of the Day: Mecca lost 32 pounds by mainly focusing on changing her eating habits. She was tired of trying to lose the same 10-30 pounds over and over again, so this year she decided to stop the cycle.
What was your motivation?
My motivation for the change was the fear of being stagnant. Let’s be honest. We make excuses for our decisions. It gets tiring trying to lose the same 10-30 pounds.
How did you change your eating habits?
I ate less. Some days, I’ll practice low carb eating, and on other days it would be low calorie (800-1000 cals per day).
Advice: If you want soda or any fizzy drinks, choose drinks with zero carbs and calories. That will save you a lot of calories. However, don’t forget water.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I’m starting to get in the gym to tone up now, but I wasn’t going during my weight loss. I was mainly focused on my eating habits. However, I did moderate workouts. For example, I would go walking, and occasionally I went to the gym 2-3 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My past weight was 257 pounds, and my current weight is 225 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 6 feet tall, so my weight will look different compared to others.
When did you start your journey?
I started in January 2021 and was inconsistent until two months ago.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
The best advice I have is to go at your own pace, stop talking about it and start being about it. It’s okay to have off days and mess up, but get back on track!
