Transformation of the Day: Marsha lost 35 pounds. She was diagnosed with PCOS and told that she could face health issues and infertility. That motivated her to do her research, make changes to her eating habits, and get fit. Today, she continues to prioritize her health because she knows her children need her to be a healthy, happy mom.
What was your motivation?
Before I had my children, I was diagnosed with PCOS. My doctor told me that if I did not start eating healthy, I would have many health issues in the future, and I wouldn’t be able to have children.
I started changing my diet little by little. I was able to able to drop 15 pounds just by making small changes to my diet. I drank water instead of juice, replaced my breakfast with a healthy smoothie, and so forth. After dropping the weight, I was able to give birth to my daughter and son.
After having children, I decided to continue to eat healthier because I need to be healthy to take care of them.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits slowly. I started with a low carb diet because my doctor suggested that. Then, I started doing my research on what foods are healthy and what foods were not.
What do your workouts consist of? How often do you work out?
When I just started my fitness journey, my workout routines consisted of mostly cardio. After a few years, I slowly introduced my self to weight training. I workout 5 to 6 times per week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 195 pounds, and now I’m maintaining at 160 pounds. Yes, my weight goes go up and down, but I try to maintain and stay focused. I know my health is important, and my children need me.
What is your height?
My height is 5’6
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey six years ago. My transformation took about six months.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is to remain consistent. You are not always going to be perfect, but as long as you keep pushing, you’ll reach your goal. Sometimes you won’t feel like working out or eating healthy, but that’s ok. You pick yourself up after falling down.
