Transformation of the Day: Marrissa lost 82 pounds. She was tired of not liking what she saw in the mirror and feeling uncomfortable in her clothes. So she took action by setting realistic goals and changing her eating habits.
My name is Marrissa M. I started my journey about 1 1/2 years ago. What caused me to lose the weight was that I didn’t feel comfortable in anything I wore. I began to hate looking at myself in the mirror and started feeling depressed.
Even though my husband tried his hardest to make me feel beautiful, I could not see what he saw. So one day, I looked in the mirror and said, “Marrissa, put your big girl panties on and go hard like you know how to do.” And that’s what I did.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 225 pounds, and my weight now is 143 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’0″ even.
How did you change your eating habits? What was your workout routine?
I had to set realistic goals for myself. So I cut out all sweets and started drinking lots of water.
I cut down the portion sizes I was eating and ate lots of veggies and fewer carbs. I also began walking 5 miles a day.
How did you stay motivated and inspired?
I started listening to podcasts that are supportive of women losing weight. I started speaking positive affirmations to myself every day even if, at that time, I did believe in what I was saying.
I also started to do more self-care. I did things that made me feel good about myself.
Now I’m on a journey to tone up all the loose skin that remains from when I was overweight. And I must say I love the results and I am feeling so much more energized. I love to see myself in the mirror now.
