Today’s weight loss success story: Marisha released 45 pounds. She says, “I like the term releasing, because it means you let the weight go for good.” She embraced a plant-based diet and worked out regularly for lifestyle change. Here is what she shared about her journey:
“In 2012, I finally saw how I let myself go after looking at some photos I had taken and I wasn’t happy with it, especially because I had a long history of being a track and field athlete. I decided to make smarter choices right away with what I ate and working out. I boosted my health by switching to a vegetarian lifestyle and I am currently in transition to becoming a vegan. My #1 MOTIVATION was and is my grandmother who passed in April 2012. I watched her life fail before my eyes due to diabetes. It was a wake up call for me that if I didn’t stop what I was doing, I would be the same way at an earlier age. I eliminated most processed foods and drinks and eat mostly fresh produce and a lot of water. I started out working out at home with a variety of DVDs (Jillian Michaels DVDs are the best. She is a BEAST!). I utilized the outdoors and participated in different workout classes. I subscribed to a few great workout coaches on YouTube and I cut out workouts out of the health magazines to have handy when I travel. I love change and challenges when it comes to working out, so I switch up often. My starting weight was 218 pounds and I am at my first goal weight of 173 pounds. When I got serious it took me about year to transform. Advice to others working on a transition…Be the CHANGE you want to see in those important to you. It’s a lifestyle so don’t expect results over night and it NEVER gets EASY you just get BETTER. #STAYFOCUSED #STAYSTRONG
#STAYHEALTHY”

Awesome! I love the term releasing. Lost implies you will be looking to posses it again! Wow! Can’t wait to see what I’ve released ( on a scale strike, got a little obsessed with it)

Thank you so much!. Yes releasing is way better because when I lost the weight it literally kept coming back, have not seen it since I released it though, lol. Keep working hard and you sure will see it.

Its great to see you know what you want, but the key factor is you must WORK for it. As I said in my story “it never gets EASY you just get BETTER”. Even at this point in my journey I am still WORKING hard to get to the next couple of goals I have set for myself. You should find a support group or buddy who you have to report to a few times a week who is also seeking to release weight, then you might hold yourself more accountable and stick to it. A suggestion is to purchase yourself a vision board and write down some goals and set dates that you will achieve them and post them on it. Put up some motivational quotes or pics of what you want to look like on it too. Purchase a notebook to track EVERYTHING that you eat and drink and you can take it a step further and track how you feel when you do so. Set your mind up for success speak it into existence. Do not let those around you control your outcome, not everyone wants to see you happy and healthy (including family). Maybe even a motivational book will help you. no one but YOU can make you release weight. I pray you have a successful journey. 🙂

Omg this is definitely a sign from God! I am actually the same weight now 218, and wanting to reach that same goal! This will be motivation for me that I can do this! I am going through separation from my husband! I havedone a lot of sstress eating and have let myself physically I feel horrible no energy and poor food choices. I am ready to take my life back and get my confidence and sexy back! This will really help me! Thanks for your story! God bless

Thank you so much and I am glad that my story has been a part of motivating you. The best part of your story that you shared is that you identified the issue and what made you get out of control. I did the same thing with a different story. I let my grandmothers sickness take a toll on me until I seen her a couple weeks prior to her passing. I wanted to give up after she died too but I took over my thoughts and said “Enough!”. I said I am going to turn this negative into a positive. So continue on your journey and continue turning your negative into a positive, trust me you will love yourself even more, mind, body and soul.

You are welcome!! I am glad that it touched you and thank you for the compliment, I worked hard and still working hard for it. Your key phrase in your response “looking forward” is what your mantra should always be. Only look back to remind yourself how far you have come, other wise keep “looking forward”!..
