What was your motivation?
I’ve been trying to lose weight for a long time. I tried a few programs and lost a few pounds here and there. Eventually, I got bored and gave up. This time, I made a decision to get rid of the excess weight because I felt like it was slowing me down. As we get older, health issues tend to pile on and being overweight does not help. I enjoy reading weight loss success stories and came across an article about an amazing transformation using the Fitness on Fire program. I was determined to achieve similar results.
What inspired you to start your weight loss journey?
I was not always overweight and I remembered how easy it was to shop for clothes in the past. Having extra stomach fat, wide hips and big thighs made it difficult to wear the things I wanted to wear because I was self-conscious. Trying on multiple outfits before finding the right one was very frustrating. I didn’t want to deal with that anymore, so needed to get out of double digit dress sizes.
How did you change your eating habits?
I included more fruits vegetables and fiber in my diet. I got rid of process foods and sugar made healthier choices. I also committed to eating smaller portions and eating 5 times a day. I stopped eating cheese, nuts, fried foods, processed foods and processed sugar. I ate Greek yogurt, fiber rich foods and I drank more water.
What did your workout consist of?
When I started my weight loss journey, I worked out 6-7 days a week for 90 minutes. After I lost 18 pounds, I started working out 5 days a week for 2 hours and 20 minutes doing the workout regimen designed by my online trainer, King of the Fire, which consisted of resistance and HIIT training.
How long did your transformation take?
It’s been five and a half months since I started my journey. I started seeing results by the third week. I was so excited when I was able to fit in a pair of jeans I’d bought the year before and from there I was hooked. Failure was not an option, so I kept pushing and being consistent.
With the Fitness on Fire Online Training Program, I learned how to nourish my body the right way. The daily nutritional guidance/monitoring and workout accountability kept me in line. I paid more attention to what I ate and made sure I worked out regularly because I knew I had to account for it. The progress photos showing how my body is becoming more shapely is just awesome.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My advice to anyone who wants to lose weight is to change your mindset, have a positive attitude and make small changes. Choose healthy food over process food. Be consistent and patient. Stay focus on your goals and remember that you are doing this for you. Also, make regular exercise and healthy eating habits a lifestyle.
