My wonderful journey started year ago (August 2015), after my last check up. My doctor told me that I really needed to lose weight. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and was pre-diabetic. I knew something was really wrong with me. I always had headaches, blurry vision and just never felt good. I thought to myself. “I’ll be ok. It will past over soon or later.”
So, a week after that I was playing with my kids. I had to stop five minutes into playing with them because I was so tried and could not breathe. I had to sit down and the look on my kids faces really hurt me because I knew they were mad at me. Later that day, I tried to do some laundry. I had to go up and down them stairs and just I could not do it. I cried and cried that night while thinking about my day and things simple things I could not do. If I did not change and lose weight, who was going to be there for my kids if something happened to me.
The next day, I started my new life and began to focus on being a better me. I cut out pop, sugar, fast food, fried food, bread and rice. Everything that was bad for me, I kicked it out my life. The meat I did eat had to be baked or grilled (chicken, fish and turkey). I also ate a lot of vegetables and fruit. I drank water, even though I hated water. It had to become my best friend.
My workout routine was going to the gym four times a week. I started off very light by walking in my neighborhood, and then worked my way up to harder stuff about 2 months in. I moved on to cardio, weight training, kickboxing, yoga, 100 squats a day, etc. I even got a gym membership took Pilates and Zumba class. Also, I got a personal trainer for two days a week.
The one thing I can really say is make sure your doing it for you and not losing weight for someone else. This is your life. Now it is time for you to take control of it.
