Transformation of the Day: Lauren lost 35 pounds and got her pre-pregnancy body back. She is an Exercise Physiologist, so she designed and customized her own healthy meal plan and exercise routine. This month, she will celebrate the year anniversary of beginning this transformation. Check out how she took action.
What was your motivation?
First, let me say that I couldn’t have gotten through this journey without God and my family by my side. My newborn son and husband were my motivation for living a healthier lifestyle. What inspired me was looking at other post-partum moms who overcame pregnancy weight gain and depression.
How did you change your eating habits?
My clean eating regimen started right after I got home from the hospital. As an Exercise Physiologist, I designed and customized my own meal plan program. I made sure that I
prepped my meals in advance. Each day, I ate mostly seafood, 2.5 cups of veggies and 3 cups of milk (due to breastfeeding). Only 20% of my diet was carbs.
What did you do in terms of exercise?
For the first 3 months, I focused mainly on cardio, endurance and strength training. During the following 3 months, my focus was cardio, HIIT and strength training. Now, I focus on hypertrophy and power. I workout at least 3x a week, but it is dependent on whether my son lets me, Lol. My minimum is 3 times a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight postpartum was 200 pounds. I currently weigh 165 pounds. My height is 5’7.
How long did your transformation take?
My journey started on April 18th, 2016. This month will make my one year transformation journey.
What advice would you give to other women who want to lose weight?
The advice that I would give anyone is to begin this journey for you! Remain CONSISTENT! Never doubt your road to success. It’s all about progress and it doesn’t happen overnight.
