Transformation of the Day: Latresha lost 60 pounds and several dress sizes. After her beloved grandmother passed, she felt like she needed a change. She got results by walking for exercise, cutting out carbs, and putting herself first.
I struggled with my weight throughout my life. In October 2019, I decided to make a change. From then to now, I’ve lost 60lbs and gone from a size 18/20 to a size 8. I’m still in my journey because, as we know, there are always ups and downs. I want to lose another 20-25lbs.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was motivated to lose weight because I felt I needed a change. I lost my grandmother, who raised me, and I needed to regain control of my life.
How did you change your eating habits?
I cut out ALL carbs and sugars, and I stopped eating after 6 pm.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started walking for a minimum of two miles a day. I never skipped a day. If the weather was bad, I would go to the mall and walk.
What is your height?
I’m 5’1’’.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have any surgery. My weight loss was and is 100 percent natural!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to keep pushing regardless of what it feels like. I’ve also learned that I needed to lose this weight FOR ME!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to never give up on yourself. Also, it’s ok to put yourself first sometimes.

Congratulations!! You look great! I am struggling with weight loss. I am 58 years old been through many things. Been doing cardio, walking. Trying to find the right plan to help me. I have started, not eating after six. Reading your story gives me hope that I can do this. Thank you for sharing.
