Transformation of the Day: LaToya lost 46 pounds. Due to excess weight, her clothing was not fitting right, her knees were aching and she was out of breath while walking stairs. She wanted to get healthy and fit, so she took on the challenge of creating a new lifestyle. Check out her story.
My name is Latoya and I would like to share my weight loss story with you. I started my journey back in August of 2012. After getting dressed one day, I realized that I was not comfortable in the skin I was in. I took a picture after getting dressed and I didn’t like how my clothes fit at all. At the time, I’d reached the highest weight I’ve ever been, which was 208 pounds. Please note that I’m only 5’4″ tall.
A couple of days passed and I looked back at that photo. It was then that I knew it was time for me to start making some change if I wanted to love what I saw. I was also motivated to change by the fact that I would be out of breathe when walking up stairs and my knees were beginning to hurt from all the excessive weight.
I started walking every morning for at least 30-45 minutes. I changed my diet by cutting out all junk, sweets, soda, pasta, bread, pork and red meat. Instead, I ate chicken, fish, veggies, fruits and drank lemon water. In about one month, I lost 18 pounds. I continued to do the things that worked form me and by the end of the year I’d lost 48 pounds (weight: 160 lbs). I didn’t have any surgeries of any kind at all. Just healthy eating and exercise.
Over the last couple years, my weight has gone up and down. However, I currently weight 162 pounds. Today, I’m wearing a size 9/10. As of January 2016, I have gone back to eating clean and doing cardio to maintain my current size. I workout on the treadmill, elliptical and stationary bike. I also do squats.
I became my own motivation. I would tell others who want to lose weight and get healthy to be consistent and never give up. Thanks for reading my story!
