Transformation of the Day: Latoya lost 39 pounds. After three c-sections, this mom knew it was time to address her weight. She was tired of not being able to wear what she wanted and tired of being at her highest weight ever. She changed her eating habits and trained hard, including doing CrossFit. Check out her story.
My transformation story starts just like many of the other mothers out there. I had three c-sections and it was time to lose weight. I went on a diet back in 2013 because I was getting married June 2014! After I got married, I put the weight back on.
I was inspired to lose weight because I was tired of being the biggest that I ever was in my life. I was tired of going shopping and not getting what I wanted because it didn’t hide my stomach or my back fat. I knew I had to make a change and I would have to be committed and dedicated, no matter what it took. The more I saw results, the more strength and motivation I gained not to give up.
I started working out at home with Shaun T’s Insanity program and changed my eating habits. I also drank more water and cut out sweets and pop. I also tried the Paleo diet, which has contributed to my weight-loss journey success as well. Later, I started doing CrossFit and it was the best workout ever. I also had a gym membership and I would literally workout 2 times a day 5-6 times a week… sometimes 7 days straight.
I started eating Turkey bacon and 2 boiled eggs for breakfast. I had a grilled chicken salad for lunch and baked chicken and vegetables for dinner. I still follow the same meal plan, except I would substitute a green smoothie for breakfast or lunch (Kale, spinach, half of an apple, half of an orange and some pineapple chunks) or a protein shake. My snacks consist of nuts and fruit.
I started my journey in August of 2013 and I am still going strong today to keep the weight off! My starting weight was 192 pounds and today I weigh 153 pounds. I am about 5’5″ tall. Yes, I have lost and gained weight since I started, but I stayed motivated by telling myself you have to stay committed to see results.
I still do CrossFit at least 3 or 4 times a week. I still go to the gym and do Insanity workouts when I need some extra cardio. I also continue to eat healthy but I give myself the chance to eat what I want when I want without over doing it.
I have plans to get surgery to remove the extra skin from stomach (tummy tuck), but until then, I will just keep working hard! My advice to anyone who wants to lose weight is just to stay committed and work harder! You might fall off track, but the most important thing is that you get back up and try even harder.
