What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was the scale. I went to the doctor in August because of pain in my knee. When I stood on the scale in the doctor’s office, it said 289 pounds. It was the heaviest weight I had ever weighed., All I saw was that I was 11 pounds from 300 pounds, so I knew I needed to do something different.
What inspired me to keep going was knowing people were watching me. I posted my workouts on Facebook. When I started, I was just relying only on me. However, I knew I needed accountability partners for those days I did not want to work out or do right. That support has helped me tremendously!
Also, my kids are my inspiration because I want to be able to keep up. Also, I have a 3-year-old grandson, and I want to be around to see him grow and to keep up with him!
How did you change your eating habits?
I joined E2M Fitness in August, and it has changed my life. It has equipped me with the tools I need to be successful. The plan is clearly laid out and that is the best situation for me. All I had to do was follow the plan.
I practice intermittent fasting. In the program, I’m not eating sugars and dairy. I eat a lot of lean protein and vegetables.
What is your workout routine?
I work out 5-6 days a week. I do cardio and circuit training. I love Trap cardio on Youtube because it’s fun and doesn’t seem like a workout.
How often did you work out?
I work out 5-6 days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 289 pounds, and I currently weigh 251 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’8″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey at the end of August, so it’s been 4 months. I’ve loss 38 pounds.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. I’ve loss weight by changing the way I eat and exercising!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is I’m stronger than I realized and I can do hard things. I’m learning to have a better relationship with food and trying foods I never would eat in the past…and it’s good!
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
The advice I have is start. Whether it’s going for a 20 minute walk or doing 10 sit ups, start somewhere and stick with it! Also, stay away from the scale!
