What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
As an endometriosis warrior, I’m so proud of myself and how far I’ve come. In 2018, I went under the knife to remove my endometriosis and whatever painful thing that was affecting my way of living. I have always been one to be active and exercise at least five days a week, so after the surgery, I set off to achieve a few goals.
One year and five months later, I must say I’ve surpassed a few of those goals, and I couldn’t be happier. My motivation has gotten stronger since my endometriosis excision surgery. Also, I have a friend named Francesca (Fancy Fit) who inspires me daily.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my diet in November 2019 to a plant-based diet, and honestly, I feel so much better.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I do a circuit of leg and arm exercises daily for about 20 mins. Sometimes I’ll incorporate core work, but my arms and legs need the most work, so I’m focused on those parts at the moment. I do a lot of skipping, squats, and weight training.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My current weight is 175 pounds, down from 210 in September 2019.
What is your height?
My height is 5’6″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
My journey started in September 2018. I was recovering after surgery and just took a brisk walk in my neighborhood. In January 2019, I started the circuit training, but not as hardcore as I’m going now.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I’ll say my transformation took five months, as I only started to go hardcore since late July 2019.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The hardest thing is having strong support. There will be people who will be happy for you and some people will just hate.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My advice, especially to those women with endometriosis and any other chronic illness;
- Stay focused and take it one day at a time. Everything doesn’t work for everyone, so figure out what works for you and be consistent.
- Take your vitamins.
- Drink plenty of water.
- 20-30 minutes of movement goes a long way.
Thanks to all those who continue to motivate and inspire me, you give me hope. My journey is far from over. Here’s to getting better and staying on the right path.
