Transformation of the Day: LaShani lost 61 pounds. She was tired the content struggle with her weight. After being diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees, she knew that she had to do something to improve her health and mobility. Check out her journey.
My motivation was that I was getting tired of being struggling with the weight and tired of my weight going up and down. My inspiration came one day when I looked in the mirror and told myself that the dead weight can no longer stay on me. I knew it was time that I do what I needed to do for me and my health.
What really made me take control of my weight was that I started having problems with my knees. In 2015, I found out that I have osteoarthritis in both knees, so I wanted to take weight off my knees and improve my health.
My before picture was taken in 2014. I started by eating salads, drinking more water and exercising. I cut back on the carbs and sweets as well. Then I noticed despite the changes, my weight was not going anywhere. I did sit in on a weight loss surgery seminar, but as I was sitting there I kept saying to myself that I can do this on my own. I didn’t need a quick fix.
In terms of eating habits, I still basically eat the same things that I have been eating, but my appetite has changed. I have learned to not overeat. I am also taking supplements that my cousin introduced me to that are all natural (Living Proof Weight Loss). My workouts consist of walking and aerobics. I exercise 3 -4 times a week.
My starting point was November 1, 2015. Last year, I weighed 325 pound and today I weigh 264 pounds. I am 5’4″ tall. I feel so much better. I don’t have a set weight goal that I’m trying to reach. I’m just going to keep going until I get to where I am comfortable.
The advice that I have for those who are struggling with their weight is stay strong and have determination. The weight is easy to put on, but harder to take off. Just have faith.
