LaRhonda lost 54 pounds. She was diagnosed with prehypertension in 2018 and later had a health scare due to chest pains. In June 2020, during the lockdowns, she took a leap of faith and started her journey. She got results with intermittent fasting, Noom, and exercise.
I am a 42-year-old mom of three who was diagnosed with prehypertension in 2018. I was at my highest weight ever at 224 pounds, and that’s a lot since I’m only 5’5″. I had a scare and went to the hospital due to chest pains. Luckily it was just a scare. During the pandemic lockdown, I took a picture with my husband and uploaded it to my smartwatch. For the first time in a while, it bothered me and low-key depressed me to see how I let myself go.
On June 11, 2020, I took a leap of faith and started my journey. I started using Iaso detox tea to jumpstart my weight loss, which I still drink daily. I also practice intermittent fasting. I don’t start eating until after 1 pm, and my cut-off time is 8 pm).
I joined Noom to track my food intake and activity. Based on my weight, height, and age, Noon set a low-calorie diet for me that cut my calories and promoted weight loss. I weigh everything that I eat and hardly ever dine out.
Lastly, I started exercising again. I do walk aerobics three times weekly and a kettlebell workout. I also waist-train daily, and I believe it has helped in my weight maintenance and the curves I’ve created.
I started a FB page named Get it Girlz to inspire my friends, family, and anyone who needs that push. We work out via FB Live every Tuesday and Thursday.
Today, I weigh 170 pounds, which means I have lost 54 pounds. (55 is my highest weight loss total so far). My ultimate goal is to get to 165 pounds and to tone and maintain my body. I am only 5 pounds away from my ultimate life change. I never knew that my change could affect so many and inspire them to start their journey.
Biggest Lesson: I’ve learned that I can do anything I put my mind to. I was at a point that I didn’t think I could do it. However, when I gave myself a chance, it all just started to fall in place, and the pounds started melting away.
Advice: If I could, I would say to all the women feeling lost or defeated, you can do it!
