Transformation of the Day: Lanisha lost 130 pounds. In March 2020, she was diagnosed with both pre-diabetes and high blood pressure. The next day, she began her transformation journey throwing out all the food that would not help her reach her goals. This mom embraced the Keto lifestyle and hit the gym.
My name is Lanisha, and I’m a 29 year old mother of one. Last year, I weighed 380 pounds. In March 2020, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and high blood pressure! I was threatened with medication, and I refused to make that part of my lifestyle!! That next day I started taking charge of my own body with Keto, going to the gym, and waist training! Today, I weigh 250 pounds, and I feel better than ever! To God be the glory!
How did you change your eating habits as you transitioned to Keto? I transitioned to the Keto lifestyle in a cold Turkey kind of way. The very next day [after my diagnoses], I threw away everything I knew I wasn’t supposed to have; No Chips, No bread, No Rice, No Pasta period, No Soda, No Cakes or Cookies, No Fried Foods, and No Potatoes.
What did your workout routine consist of? I hit the gym and didn’t mostly cardio because it works best for eliminating overall body fat. I didn’t start lifting weights until I lost about 80 pounds! I worked out for about 45 minutes 3 days a week. I also did waist training.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? No surgery!!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight? I would say pick a purpose! I noticed the difference from any of my other failed weight loss attempts was that I didn’t have a strong purpose in mind. Once I knew my goal was essential to my life, THERE was NO GIVING UP!
